Posted: Updated:

A funeral was held on Long Island this morning for a firefighter who six years ago survived the deadly Black Sunday fire in The Bronx.

Retired FDNY Lt. Joseph DiBernardo was injured in the 2005 blaze after jumping from the burning apartment building, which had been illegally converted.

DiBerdnardo passed away in his home last week. There is still no word on the cause of his death.
