Arrest made in beating, robbery of elderly man

Police have arrested a man accused of beating and robbing an 81-year-old man in The Bronx Thursday afternoon, thanks to a tip from an anonymous caller.

Cameron Roebuck was arrested yesterday afternoon after an anonymous caller alerted police that he was in a vacant house on Castle Hill and Ellis avenues. According to police, Roebuck threw Jose Rodriguez to the ground and punched him in the face, taking off with a gold chain and $30. The entire incident was caught on surveillance video.

Residents in Parkchester, however, still do not feel safe. They say they will not feel safe until there is more surveillance and enforcement placed on the streets to prevent this from happening again.
