Bronx councilman wants NYPD statistics change
A Bronx member of the New York City Council is proposing a bill that would require the NYPD to report crime statistics by neighborhood instead of by precinct.
"The way the stats are being presented, they're not useful and if they're not useful, we can't really provide the services that we need in our community," says Councilman Fernando Cabrera (D-The Bronx).
Cabrera wants the NYPD to be required to post monthly crime statistics. He says he needs the stats to help with the placement of security cameras in The Bronx.
