Murder victim's family seeking harsher domestic-violence penalties

As the suspect in 46-year-old DeAnna Bazemore's murder pleaded not guilty in court today, family members of Bazemore are fighting to make sure a crime like this never happens again.

The family members of Bazemore have joined with state Assemblyman Eric Stevenson (D-The Bronx) to introduce legislation that would require harsher penalties for repeat offenders.
