Class of 2012 skates to school in 52-year-old tradition

For 52 years, seniors at Mount St. Ursula Academy have gathered at Poe Park to skate to school on Senior Ring Day.

Today, the Class of 2012 carried on the tradition as they skated down the Grand Concourse.

Students say this event makes them feel part of something important. The students have to make it down to the bottom of a hill to collect their senior class rings.

While many seniors tried to brave the hill on their own, others got a hand from the same teachers who help them in the classroom. Every senior arrived to a warm reception back at the academy.
