Metro-North debuts quiet cars during rush hourPosted: Updated:
Many Bronx commuters can expect a silent ride on the Metro-North as the railroad debuts its new quiet car program in the borough.
Passengers riding in 31 cars will have to keep the volume down and avoid using cell phones, music players or other electronic devices unless they can do so quietly.
Metro-North is expanding the pilot program to all rush hour trains after it was first tested on two lines. Officials say they expect commuters to self-enforce the restrictions.
