17th Annual Tour De Bronx shows riders unique view

Hundreds of cyclists from around the city gathered today to take place in the 17th Annual Tour De Bronx.

The main focus of the bike ride is to bring residents and those from out of town a unique view of the borough.

Bikers were able to explore parts of the Sheridan Expressway, Soundview Park, and City Island on either the 40- or 25-mile route.

Organizers claim they are trying to get rid of the long time association the Bronx has with crime and instead show people parts of the Bronx that they may have never seen before.

The tour ended in the Botanical Gardens where there was free food and T-shirts for the riders.
