Posted: Updated:

Residents in Marine Park say they're fed up with a vacant building in their neighborhood that's become an eyesore and a haven for the homeless. The building on Kimball Street has been vacant for nearly six years. Officials say the developer began construction illegally, knowing that zoning laws didn't permit six-story buildings in the area. The city issued a stop-work order and a judge ordered the developer to remove the top two floors. The developer has filed for a hardship waiver from the city, claiming the company doesn't have the money for the removal.Neighbors say they want the oversized structure turned into something useful.
