P.S. 48 'Gleeks' out to save the music

Students at P.S. 48 in Hunts Point are showcasing their musical talents in a YouTube video to try and save their music department.

Students and teachers are applying for the "Glee" Give a Note Contest with their own version of Nick Minaj's "Super Bass" as budget cuts threaten to drown out the sound in their program.

If the school gets enough votes, it could win $50,000. Teachers say that without that money, it's unlikely the department will survive.

To help, you can vote online once a day until Nov. 7. Videos will then go to a final judging process with three grand prize winners announced in December.
