Co-op City residents still without hot water

Hundreds of Co-op City residents had water trouble this morning after crews experienced a massive pipe failure last night. Officials at the River Bay Management Company say the pipe broke, leaving 10 apartment buildings and two sets of townhouses without hot water. The company did inform residents that they would be without hot water, but only until 7 p.m. last night. "When you have young children and you have to get them ready for school, and you're heating up water to try to wash them up and have them brush their teeth properly, it's really very difficult," resident Lenise Streeter said. Company officials say they are working to get the water back as soon as possible.
