BX Remembers 9/11: Network for first responders

Posted: Updated:

Ten years after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, emergency responders still cannot communicate with each other over emergency radios.

In a 10th anniversary report card given by the 9/11 Commission, the group says the U.S. is still lacking a nationwide broadband network dedicated solely to first responders.

News 12 will take a look at how Bronx residents have been affected as the anniversary approaches. The Bronx Remembers tribute special will air Friday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
