Gas prices up at the start of Labor Day weekendPosted: Updated:
The holiday rush has already begun, as people get a head start on traveling for the Labor Day weekend. But gas prices are rising as everyone fills up for the long drive ahead.
According to AAA, the average price of a gallon of gas in New York is $4.07, up nearly 10 cents from last week. Last year at this time, a gallon of regular gas cost only $2.90. One consumer-generated website lists the Gulf station on Williamsbridge Road as having the cheapest gas in the borough at $3.79.
