BX Remembers 9/11: Twin Towers replica

Posted: Updated:

A Bronx resident has constructed a replica of the Twin Towers in honor of the upcoming anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

"All this talk was going on about the 10 year anniversary," said Matthew Galcik. "And that's when it came to me...this is what I'm going to do. I am going to build those Twin Towers."

Galcik began his project on July 4 and after two months of building and $2,000 later, the replica towers were complete.

Completed, the towers stand 12 feet tall and weigh 250 pounds each.

Galick placed the replicas in his front yard as a memorial to those who lost their lives, drawing people from all over the community.
