Cats rescued from Co-op City in need of adoption

Posted: Updated:

More than 20 cats rescued from a woman's Co-op City apartment earlier this year are in need of adoption or foster care, or else they face euthanisation in a week.

The cats' elderly owner had to move out of her apartment in the spring due to health issues. All of the kittens from the original group rescued have found homes, but more than 20 older cats still need to be placed.

"We're just hoping that we can find adoptions for them or foster homes, or we're looking for volunteers to help us," said Lorraine Ritter of Rescue Angels, the group who took in the cats.

Anyone interested in taking one of the cats home can call 347-225-4769.
