Cops: 2 shot during ATF operation in The Bronx

Posted: Updated:

Officials are investigating after they say two people were shot during an operation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in The Bronx today.

Police say dozens of undercover ATF agents swarmed the Storage Deluxe Facility on Bruckner Boulevard at around 12:30 p.m. and attempted to arrest three people in a car. They say the suspects tried to run over the agents, forcing them to open fire on the vehicle.

According to investigators, two of the suspects were taken to Jacobi Medical Center and the third person was taken into custody. They say a fourth man was arrested at a separate location.

ATF officials say that the men were wanted for a string of robberies and home invasions. All four are expected to be arraigned in Manhattan Federal Court tomorrow.
