Cops: 1 injured in police-involved shooting

Authorities say they are investigating a police-involved shooting on Prospect Avenue in Fordham last night that sent at least one person to the hospital.

According to police, an officer approached two groups of men involved in an argument about guns. Witnesses say that's when they heard as many as 20 shots ring out at around midnight.

At least one person was shot in the leg and taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital. No officers were injured, but some were also taken to the hospital and treated for trauma.

Neighbors say a number of police officers quickly arrived on scene and searched several apartment buildings in the area.

Officials say no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
