2-alarm fire sends 2 to the hospital

A two-alarm fire on Southern Boulevard sent two people to the hospital following a stabbing this morning.

According to authorities, a 36-year-old man set off the blaze when he first set himself on fire after stabbing a 51-year-old man. The two neighbors were allegedly engaged in an argument.

The 36-year-old was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center and is in critical condition. The other man is in stable condition at St. Barnabas Hospital.

Police say that if the man survives his injuries, he could be charged in connection with the stabbing.
