High-tech parking program to debut in BX

A pilot program that will use high-tech gadgets to help drivers find parking spots will soon debut in a Bronx neighborhood. Officials say 250 hockey puck-sized sensors will be placed under parking spots in the congested Arthur Avenue area. The sensors will be read by a Smartphone app that will let drivers easily locate vacant spots. Residents say they're excited and hopeful about the program. Some say it can often take them 30-45 minutes to find a parking spot in the area. Street Smart Technology is partnering with the Department of Transportation for the trial this winter.
