Bronx residents take to the streets for National Night Out
Bronx residents took to the streets tonight as part of National Night Out to help battle crime and take back their neighborhoods.
Residents gathered for events in Parkchester and across all five boroughs for a chance to meet with their local law enforcement officers. Mayor Michael Bloomberg also stopped by to thank police for their hard work.
Police say National Night Out gatherings are organized each year to send a strong message to criminals that residents are going to stand up against crime and violence.
