BX residents want broken Fordham Rd. sidewalk fixed

Bronx residents say they are fed up with a dangerous sidewalk on East Fordham Road.

They say the sidewalk has a 4-foot wide chip in it, and that it trips unaware pedestrians as they walk down the road. They say they want the city to step in, but are unsure which department is responsible for the repair.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said in a statement that it is responsible only if the problem lays within 3 feet of a subway. According to measurements taken by News 12 The Bronx, the crack is just about 3 feet away from the Fordham Road subway station's entrance.

Meanwhile, a Department of Transportation official says they'll be sending an inspector to take a look at the sidewalk.
