DEP: Jerome Avenue water main has been repaired

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) says the water main that burst and caused serious damage on Jerome Avenue a few weeks ago has been repaired.

Back on July 27, a 54-inch pipe burst underneath Jerome Avenue at East 177th Street.

The rushing water was so powerful that it tore through the asphalt.

The DEP says it is still restoring the road and hopes to have it open by Monday.
