An NYPD detective from The Bronx was arrested by federal authorities on Monday for a months-long string of robberies, according to police.

According to officials, detective Kyron Collins, 39, is suspected in a string of robberies that began in Oct. 2010. Collins was arrested along with two other defendants for "dealing in contraband cigarettes" and other allegations.

Police say during one robbery on July 26, Collins removed $7,000 from a victim's mattress.

Collins, a 16-year veteran assigned to the 52nd Precinct in The Bronx, was charged with one count of robbery.

Collins is out on $500,000 bond, but a judge placed him under house arrest and required him to wear a monitoring device. He also ordered Collins to surrender his passport and weapon.
