Bronx residents rail against senseless violence

Clergy leaders and elected officials are urging young people to end senseless acts of violence after a Bronx man was arrested in the shooting of three people earlier this week.

Police say Louis Moore, 23, turned himself in at the 48th Precinct yesterday in connection with the shooting on 181st Street on Monday night.

Moore's alleged shooting victims are 5-year-old and 2-year-old girls, as well as a 20-year-old man, believed to be his intended target, according to police.

Moore is being held without bail. His next appearance in court is Sept. 2. His attorney says Moore maintains his innocence and says that a police lineup did not result in his identification.

Community leaders rallied today in hopes of increasing youth programs and reducing illegal guns in the city.
