Police investigate Melrose double shooting

Police are investigating a double shooting that occurred yesterday in Melrose that sent two men to the hospital. Investigators say the suspect approached the men on Park Avenue while riding a bicycle and then opened fire. One victim, 23, was shot in the face, and the other, 20, was shot in the arm. Both were taken to Lincoln Hospital, where officials say the younger victim is in stable condition. Police shut down the street last night and say they are unsure whether the attack was drug- or gang-related. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
