Keeping cool: Sunglasses should be worn all year
With temperatures hitting the 90s, many are staying out of the sun and finding ways to be safe in the heat.
Experts say eye protection is important all year long, no matter the weather. About 31 percent of UV light still comes through on cloudy days. Sunglasses should have frames that extend from the eyebrow to the cheek and wrap around the contour of the face, along with lenses that have 100 percent UVA and UVB protection.
Experts say sunglasses are just one part of staying safe. On hot days, they should be worn with a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen and light-colored clothing.
