Car flips in to Bronx River

With the horn still beeping, emergency crews pulled a car out of the Bronx River this morning, which caused traffic that stretched back for miles while crews worked to clear the scene.

According to police, a woman was driving northbound on the Bronx River Parkway near the Bronx-Westchester border at around 9 a.m. when she sideswiped another car.

Cops say she then lost control and flipped her car over the guardrail, causing it to slide down the embankment and land upside down in the water.

Investigators say thanks to the driver of the car that was hit, the woman was pulled out of the river.

Dozens of onlookers say the man jumped down the embankment to save the woman.

The woman was taken to a hospital, no word yet on her condition.
