Bronx rapist gets 60-year prison sentence

(AP) - A 47-year-old Bronx man accused of sexuallyattacking three prostitutes has been sentenced to 60 years inprison.

James Schlau was sentenced Tuesday after being convicted lastmonth of rape and other charges.

He is a registered sex offender after being locked up for aviolent sexual assault on a woman in Minnesota.

During the trial, his 23-year-old accuser said Schlau pulled outa razor after he picked her up on June 16, 2010. She testified thatafter she was forced to perform oral sex, Schlau punched her in theface and tried to have sex with her.

Prosecutors said Schlau also sexually assaulted two otherprostitutes last year.

Schlau was arrested after prostitutes reported the attacks.

His lawyer said Schlau frequented prostitutes but never rapedthem.
