Riverdale homeowner fed up with noise from car repair shop

A homeowner and a tire repair shop which opened up next door are locked in a battle over noise and quality of life.

Adal Assal says his home on West 260th Street used to be his sanctuary, but ever since the Broadway Tire Repair Shop opened up next door, Assal says he has had to deal with the noise, lights and tires strewn about.

The shop's owner, Sabri Darwish, says that he has done everything he can to ease the tensions by changing operating hours and working on mitigating noise, but also says that he has the right to be here and is properly zoned to be doing that type of work.

Darwish says that he has placed an order for an even quieter type of tool that should help eliminate much of the noise.
