Drivers fuming over Hutchinson Metro Center construction

Drivers say they are frustrated with construction centered around a 911 call center on Waters Place near the Hutchinson Metro Center.

Between the street closures, the stacks of traffic and cars weaving in and out of cones, drivers say they have had enough.

The Department of Design and Construction, which is managing the project, says the work at the entrance of the metro center is to install a new storm water chamber that will lead to the 911 call center.

A spokesperson for the department says all construction in the area has been approved by the Department of Transportation and that the work should be completed by the end of July.
