Residents' opinions go both ways on roadway reversal

Residents of one Pelham Bay street are having mixed reactions now that traffic on their block is back to its original pattern.

St. Paul Avenue had always been a southbound street until traffic was reversed back in 2006. Officials say the direction was changed to ease traffic during a construction project near Pelham Parkway.

After years of complaints from some community members, traffic has been switched back to southbound.

Others in the neighborhood, however, say they're worried that the reversal will make it easier for motorists to speed down the street as they come off the Hutchinson River Parkway and the Pelham Parkway.
