BX businesses excited for upcoming same-sex marriages

Mere days after New York legalized same-sex marriages, Bronx businesses are preparing for the influx of happy couples looking to get married.

For Greg Khitrov, of Treasure the Moment Photography, the new law will likely mean a big boost for his business and many others.

The state is also likely to see a boost in revenue, with $2.3 million from marriage licenses alone and $310 million in total revenue over the next three years, according to the state Senate's Independent Democratic Conference.

"It's exciting," says Lea Mendez, of Bella's Flower Shop. "I think it brings more business opportunity and it gives me a chance to make more people happy."

Same-sex couples will be legally allowed to get married starting July 25.
