City to provide residents with more rain barrels

(AP) - New York City's rainwater collection program is so popular that it plans to hand out 1,000 more rain barrels next month for residents' yards.

The barrels connect to rain gutters and hold up to 55 gallons ofwater for use on lawns and gardens.

The free program follows a pilot program that distributed 1,000barrels in Queens.
