Man found guilty in Co-op City shooting that killed 1
A Bronx man has been found guilty of second-degree murder after a shooting spree in Co-op City left one man dead and another paralyzed.
Police say Paulino Valenzuela is a former employee in Co-op City. They say in a videotaped interview that he admitted to entering the basement of an apartment building and fatally shooting his former supervisor in the chest. He then shot two co-workers as he was fleeing the scene, police say.
Valenzuela turned himself in to Bronx Criminal Courthouse shortly after the shooting.
Prosecutors say he snapped after he lost a discrimination lawsuit against his former employer.
Valenzuela faces 25 years to life in prison and will be sentenced on May 5.
