BX bodega owners on edge after burglary rash

Many bodega owners and employees fear burglars, but some say they're especially on edge after a recent rash of robberies in The Bronx.

A group called the Bodega Association is trying to keep workers safe by sponsoring an "NYPD tips day" to share information on safe practices.

Police recommend keeping storefronts well-lit and placing surveillance cameras visibly and strategically. Employees are also urged to hand money over to robbers rather than put themselves in harm's way.
