Man facing murder, arson charges in fatal Morris Avenue fire dies

A Bronx father facing murder and arson charges in connection to a fatal fire this morning at a Morris Avenue apartment building has died, according to police.

Authorities say Vincente Cordero, 34, was prononounced dead at Westchester Medical Center after he was involved in a dispute with 30-year-old Kety Sanchez. They say he stabbed her multiple times and then set fire to the fifth-floor apartment, which killed his 1-year-old daughter, Keiry.

Officials say Sanchez was later pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital.

Neighbors say the couple, both from the Dominican Republic, often fought. They say Sanchez has two other children who were at school at the time of the fire.
