BX experts offer bullying advice to parents

Experts in the field of child bullying are speaking out about how parents should handle bullies.

It comes after a 32-year-old Bronx mother was arrested for allegedly getting in the middle of a fight between her daughter and another student at M.S. 80.

Social worker Sheryl Hurst says parents should never try to deal with the bully themselves.

Hurst suggests that parents should always keep an eye on their kids? Internet and texting activity. She also says if a parent suspects their child may be being bullied to request a meeting with the school principal and the parent of the suspected bully.

She says parents should make their children aware that threats of violence in the form of text messages can be used as evidence.
