Report: Crotona Park has largest spike in crime

During the day, Crotona Park serves as a 127-acre oasis, but as the sun goes down, a recent City Council report claims the criminals come out to play, leaving the park with the highest spike in crime compared to all other New York City parks.

In 2010 alone, 25 robberies, six cases of grand larceny and two burglaries have been reported.

The statistics are leaving many residents on edge, fearing for their families' safety.

Community Board 3 says it will be working with the 42nd Precinct and local groups to ensure that there is adequate protection for those in the park, day or night.
