City Council proposes 17 bills in response to Dec. 26 blizzard
The New York City Council has proposed 17 pieces of legislation in response to a series of public hearings about the Christmas-weekend blizzard that left the city snowbound for days.
The mayor's office opposes the legislation, saying it is currently working on implementing some of the ideas and that others are unfeasible.
The city admits that mistakes were made during the cleanup, but a spokesman for the mayor says that they hope they have regained the people's trust and that the City Council should support the administration's plan instead.
