Yankee Stadium parking garages near default

The owner of the parking garages for the new Yankees Stadium is expected to default on a $6.8 million interest payment on April 1.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz said it's possible that one of the garages could be used as part of a new hotel that he's working to bring to the neighborhood. Other local leaders are pushing for the borough to consider other uses, like housing or commercial development, for the properties.
