Report: NYC wasting money on marijuana arrests
A new report is claiming that New York City is wasting million of dollars on minor marijuana arrests.
According to the Drug Policy Alliance, the NYPD has spent $75 million processing thousands of arrests made for small possession charges. They argue that under New York State law, a simple citation is given to someone with 25 grams or less of marijuana.
The NYPD has not commented on the report.
