Study: More than half of city's teen moms are Latina
Researchers say some alarming new statistics show nearly 70 percent of Latina teens in New York City get pregnant.
In what some health experts call an epidemic, The Bronx has some of the highest rates of teenage pregnancies in the city. However, it appears that the trend prevalent in the Hispanic community. Researchers say some 56 percent of girls who give birth to a child before turning 20 years old are Latina.
Some experts say the high teen pregnancy rates are in part caused by a lack of access to resources like preventative care and information.
