Egyptian cobra missing from Bronx Zoo

An Egyptian cobra has gone missing from the Bronx Zoo, prompting the closure of the zoo's reptile house until further notice.

Officials say the 20-inch long cobra was missing from its cage Saturday. Staff members say the reptile house is closed and secure.

The escaped cobra is an adolescent. Zoo officials say when it matures into an adult it can kill a person in 15 minutes with one bite.
