Cops: Good Samaritans thwart cab driver robbery

Police say Good Samaritans helped thwart the robbery of a cab driver this afternoon in The Bronx. Cops say a 29-year-old man got into a cab at East 163rd Street and Prospect Avenue and tried to rob the driver. According to police, the suspect shot the driver in the neck, causing him to crash into a bus stop. Investigators say the suspect jumped out of the cab and tried to rob someone else, but people on the street intervened and held him down until authorities arrived. The cab driver is listed in critical condition.
