Bronx Egyptians hopeful, scared for family back home
Bronx Egyptians say they are both hopeful and scared as they continue to watch the week-long uprising play out in their home country.
Omar Awadallah and his mother, Ghada, have been poring over Facebook to contact their friends and family in Egypt after the government restored Internet access yesterday.
Ghada says she spent 10 years under President Hosni Mubarak's power before coming to America and is trying to remain optimistic for a peaceful transition to democracy, but is still worried.
The U.S. State Department is urging all Americans in Egypt to leave while government charter flights are still available.
