City to study congestion on Gun Hill Road

The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) says it plans to study congestion problems along a mile-long stretch of East Gun Hill Road.

According to DOT officials, the busy area between Jerome Avenue and White Plains Road may be getting a makeover following complaints from residents who say it is dangerous for both pedestrians and drivers.

The agency says it will host a public hearing to get input from residents on dealing with congestion and safety issues through the citywide Congested Corridors Project.

The hearing will be held Thursday, Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Montefiore Medical Center.
