Gov. Cuomo proposes salary cap for school superintendentsPosted: Updated:
Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) is trying to put an end to big paychecks for school superintendents with a new salary cap.
The governor says the proposal would range from $125,000 - $175,000, depending on how many students are enrolled in the district. Currently, 31 percent of school superintendents make more than $179,000 per year.
If passed, the plan would go into effect when a current superintendent's contract expires.
