New principal takes over controversial school
A new principal will helm troubled P.S. 14 after the position was vacated in the middle of the school year.
Jason Kovac resigned as the principal of P.S. 14 after parents and staff asked for his ouster.
Parents said before Kovac's tenure, the school received an A from the Board of Education. After he took charge, the school quickly dropped to a C.
The Department of Education chose Ira Schulman to replace Kovac. He was formerly an assistant principal at Wakefield Elementary School.
