Bronx man indicted for robbing convent, churches

A Bedford Park man accused of burglarizing two local churches and a convent last fall was indicted today.

According to court documents, Nathaniel Linden , 51, said he started robbing churches because he was angered by sex-abuse scandals.

Police say he was arrested while trying to rob Saint Philip Neri Church.

Linden also has an extensive record, according to police. They say he has been arrested 17 times since 1980 for robberies, burglaries and drug possessions.

He is being held on $50,000 bail.
