Some NYC schools to receive financial assistance

The Department of Education will be distributing $10 million to 532 schools across New York City this afternoon.

The money, according to an announcement by Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Schools Chancellor Cathie Black, will go toward helping struggling schools with tutoring, small group lessons after school, weekend instructions and other supplemental materials.
