Bronx school ranked top in the city under fire
A Bronx school once ranked the top public school in the city is now under investigation for grade inflation.
The Theater Arts Production School on Webster Avenue is accused of inflating grades. A recent article by the New York Times stated that teachers did anything possible to pass students. Accusations include promoting a student who missed 98 days of school and creating a class that didn't exist. The Times article also stated that the school's principal was the one who granted class credits needed for graduation rather than the teachers.
School officials could not be reached for comment.
